As the NDL belongs to the Diet, its annual revenues and expenditures are in the national budget. The total amount of the initial budget appropriated for NDL is approximately 19,874 million yen for FY2023 beginning in April 2023.
Approximately 2,272 million yen is allocated for library materials as follows:
