Fujin fuzoku zukushi (A compendium of women's customs)

This series was created by OGATA Gekko (1859–1920), a Nihonga (Japanese-style) painter of the Meiji period. In this series, Gekko depicts women of the day alongside various seasonal events and scenes that retain the atmosphere of the Edo period. Gekko is also well known for his extensive work as an illustrator for the magazine Fuzoku Gaho (The Pictorial Magazine of Japanese Customs).
