Hyakki yagyo emaki (Night parade of the demon horde)

This picture scroll depicts a hyakki yagyo (night parade of the demon horde), in which numerous supernatural creatures parade through the streets of Kyoto late at night. Most of these creatures are tsukumogami, the spirits of everyday tools and utensils come to life.
