Group Research Room
This room is for group research using our library materials.
Advance application by the group representative is required.
Usage Conditions
The Group Research Room is available for groups of 2 to 15 people that satisfy any of the following criteria. (For groups of 16 or more, please contact us via the details at the bottom of the page.)
- A research group composed of faculty and students from a university academic unit (such as a laboratory or seminar), led and supervised by the faculty member in charge
- A research group engaged in the same research activity, intending to publish findings, under a designated leader
- Groups deemed particularly necessary by the Director General of the National Diet Library
In principle, use of the Group Research Room is limited to official registered users. Individuals under the age of 18 are not permitted to use this facility.

Usage Notes
The Group Research Room does not provide computer terminals. Please use your own device (laptop, smartphone, etc.) to search for and request materials.
To access or print electronic journals and databases, terminals are available in the Hall.
How to Apply
The group representative must submit the application.
Reservations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis from one month prior to the visit to up to three library opening days prior to the visit. You may book up to three separate dates at a time. Once a scheduled visit is completed, you will be eligible to make an additional booking.
