KOBAYASHI Kiyochika's calendar

This English-language calendar features vividly colored nishiki-e prints by KOBAYASHI Kiyochika (1847–1915). It was produced by Kawamata Kenpu Seiren Co., Ltd., a manufacturer of silk textiles for export, and was sent enclosed with its products to overseas customers. The copy held by the National Diet Library is the calendar for 1910 (Meiji 43). The months from January to December feature nishiki-e prints by KOBAYASHI Kiyochika; only the cover (or back cover) is by MIZUNO Hidekata. This item forms part of the HOTTA Ryohei Collection, which comprises materials relating to clocks and calendars.
