A geisha in Gion, the wife of a member of the Morgan family (J.P. Morgan and Co.). Because of the downfall of her family, she started working as a geisha at the age of 14. George Morgan arrived in Japan in 1902 and fell in love with her at first sight. In 1904, they were married, and then lived in New York and Paris. Widowed in 1915, she continued staying in France and then returned to Japan in 1938. Her life has been made into plays and a musical.
