2021-5-31 Restrictions on admission to the Tokyo Main Library to be eased starting Tuesday, June 1

Access to the Tokyo Main Library is currently restricted to those who acquire reservations via the lottery reservation system. Additionally, patrons with a Registered User card may enter the library without a reservation Monday through Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Starting Tuesday, June 1, patrons with a Registered User card will also be allowed to enter the library without a reservation Monday through Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. as well. There is no time limit for patrons who enter the library at that time.

  • Admission will be restricted as necessary if the library is crowded.
  • The Rare Books and Old Materials Room as well as the Modern Japanese Political History Materials Room close at 5:00 p.m. Call-slips are accepted until 4:00 p.m.

To enter the library between 10:30 and 16:00 from Monday to Friday or on a Saturday, please request a reservation using the appropriate request form, as shown on the following webpage.
