Lake Towada
Lake Towada is a double caldera lake on the border between Aomori and Akita Prefectures. The Otome statue by Kotaro Takamura stands by the lakeside as the symbol of the lake. Together with the Oirase River, which flows out of Ko-no-kuchi on the eastern shore, the lake is designated as a Special Place of Scenic Beauty and a Natural Monument.
