Lake Biwa
The largest lake in Japan, located in Shiga Prefecture. It has long served as a water source and hub for water transportation for the Kinki region, and is also popular for fishing. It is known as a scenic spot, and has been used as the subject of ukiyoe and waka poetry as one of the "Eight Views of Omi".
