Integration of the NDL Online and NDL Search web services

The National Diet Library (NDL), Japan, has integrated two of its web services—the National Diet Library Online Search and Request Service (NDL Online) and the NDL Search—and launched them as the new NDL Search web service on January 5, 2024.

Main Points of Renewal (About New NDL Search)

The functions and services of the NDL Online have been integrated into the NDL Search and relaunched as the new NDL Search.


* Actual screen may slightly differ.

  1. We have integrated and improved our web services and made it easier to search.
  2. We have expanded and enhanced the information we provide in support of our patrons' pursuit of knowledge.
  3. We continue to provide our extensive bibliographic data and make easier to use.

The Materials Search for Persons with Disabilities service, which had been a part of the NDL Search, has been launched as the new National Diet Library Materials Search for Persons with Disabilities (Mina Search).

About Providing Japanese National Bibliography, etc.

We will continue to provide our bibliographic data, including the Japanese National Bibliography (standard bibliographic data for Japanese publications and foreign publications in Japanese acquired by the National Diet Library), in a way that is easier to use.
