Extension of expiry date of user information is not available via NDL Online, etc. during the year-end and New Year's holidays
User registration of the National Diet Library is valid for three years from the date of registration. Each time you use the NDL's services, the validity period will be automatically extended to three years after the date you use them. After three years have passed from either the date of user registration, the last time you entered the NDL (either Tokyo Main Library, Kansai-kan or the Researchers' Reading Room of the International Children's Literature), the last time you logged into NDL web services or the date you used the Remote Photoduplication service (the date when the NDL accepted your request for the service), the user information will expire.
For the following patrons, registered user information may expire between the end of the year 2023 and the beginning of the year 2024.
- Patrons who registered between December 2020 and January 2021 and have not had the opportunity to use the NDL's services since then.
- Patrons who registered prior to December 2020 and between the end of the year 2023 and the beginning of the year 2024, it will have been three years since the last use of NDL services.
