1. Group training

In this training program, the NDL provides topic-based training courses which take place on the premises of the NDL.

• *All programs are taught in Japanese.

Eligible learners

Public librarians, university librarians, special librarians, etc. in Japan.

• *The actual eligibility varies in different programs.

Contents

NDL staff members (and guest instructors in some courses) give lectures on topics such as: reference services; special materials and information (e.g. old Japanese materials); other various operations (e.g. digitization of materials).

• *Some of the programs are not provided every year.

2. Remote training

Learners can participate in courses anytime and anywhere by accessing the NDL's official YouTube channel. All programs are taught in Japanese, but some are available with English subtitles.

3. Training program by dispatched NDL staff

In this training program, NDL employees provide instruction at other institutions in Japan.

• *All programs are taught in Japanese.

Public libraries, university libraries, school libraries, special libraries, etc. in Japan.

NDL employees give lectures on topics such as the NDL's services and operations as well as support programs for other libraries.
