Fees vary depending on the type of copying. Photoduplication services are provided in compliance with copyright laws. Copying may not be permitted, depending on the status of the materials.
After requesting same-day photoduplication services, please pay your fees in cash or electronic money at the counter where you requested photocopying. (Please note that the ILCL accepts cash only.) Please see "Electronic money cards that we accept". Sorry, but we do not accept credit cards.
After requesting later date photoduplication services, you will be invoiced for the photocopy fees, handling fees, and postage at actual cost. Payment is made after receipt of copies. An invoice is enclosed with your copies when shipped. After receiving your copies, please check to be sure they are correct and make a payment at a bank or convenience store within 20 days of receipt. Please be aware that additional transfer fees might also apply.
The standard time for provision of copied materials is within around 30 minutes from time of application, but during busy times this may take longer, depending on the copying method etc.
We thank you for your understanding.
Please be aware that the Library does not permit copying of audiovisual materials.
As a general rule, copying of audiovisual materials (including album jackets, commentary, lyrics, and music) requires the approval of the copyright holder and the copyright management organization.
Please be aware that the Library does not permit printing out information from the Internet using the NDL's PCs, except where conducted within the scope of permission obtained from the copyright holder of that information.
The on-site photoduplication service does not provide copies in digital format, except for some rare books and old materials. For certain rare books and old materials, we provide image data stored on DVD-R by mail via the later date photoduplication service.
Please note that it may be possible to receive a copy in PDF format through the remote photoduplication service. For more information, please refer to "Remote Photoduplication (PDF download)" on the NDL Search.
For system reasons, it is not possible to apply for remote photoduplication services from the terminals in the Library.
Please apply after leaving the Library, either from an Internet connection or through a local public library.
