2026-4-17 Tokyo Main Library expected to be crowded before and after Golden Week holidays

During the Golden Week holidays, the Tokyo Main Library will be closed as follows:

• Sunday April 26, Wednesday April 29, and Sunday May 3 to Wednesday May 6

If you are planning to visit the library either immediately before or after Golden Week, please be aware that we expect the library to be very crowded due to a large influx of visitors.
Please give yourself plenty of time for your visit.

User registration is required to request library materials from the closed stacks.
In particular, new user registration at the library is taking much longer than usual because of the large numbers of visitors.
Please be aware that when the library is crowded, the reception desk might close earlier than scheduled.
