2025-5-8 National Diet Library is experiencing a high volume of new user registrations and requests for upgrades from simple to official registered user

The National Diet Library is currently receiving a high volume of requests for new user registrations and upgrades from simple to official registered user. Please be patient, since these requests are taking a considerable about of time to process via the NDL Search, or by postal mail.

New user registration by visiting the NDL is taking much longer than usual because of the large numbers of visitors.
Please be aware that when the library is crowded, the reception desk might close earlier than scheduled. Please come to the library early in the day if you intend to request new user registration.
