2020-3-25 National Diet Library Award presented at Urban Data Challenge 2019

The Urban Data Challenge is a project that supports communities and organizations using open data to solve local challenges. It also hosts an annual contest in which participants from both the public and private sectors create applications and share ideas about finding new ways of solving problems. The National Diet Library (NDL) provides both data and other forms of support for this contest.
On March 14, 2020, at the final event of this year’s contest, "Acchi Kocchi Rehacchi!," an application that uses data from the NDL' s Collaborative Reference Database, received the NDL Award for its innovative approach to utilizing open data available from the NDL.
