2019-10-10 The NDL has extended the scope its acquisition of data for persons with print disabilities.

The National Diet Library (NDL) has been acquiring accessibility-enhanced data from other institutions in Japan and making this data and other data produced by the NDL available via the Internet to persons with print disabilities. (Data Transmission Services for persons with print disabilities)

The NDL added the following data to its scope of data acquired for persons with print disabilities.

  • Audio data, such as MP3 files
  • The NDL has been acquiring proofread plain text data until now. However, now the NDL will also acquire unproofread text data, and in other file formats, such as EPUB3, DOCX, and PDF with text.

The current scope of data acquired for persons with print disabilities is as follows.
