2019-9-2 Friday, November 15, 2019, International Policy Seminar "Current Topics in Employment and Earnings: Labor Market and Evidence-Based Policymaking (EBPM)"

Inequality and poverty are becoming more serious problems in many countries. As a way to address these problems, raising the minimum wage is drawing attention. The National Diet Library (NDL) and the Center for Research and Education in Program Evaluation (CREPE) of the University of Tokyo are pleased to sponsor a seminar featuring Dr. David Neumark, a specialist in labor economics.

Dr. Neumark will examine the effects of minimum wages on jobs, the income distribution, and almost everything else, followed by a discussion on the future of the labor market and labor policies with a panel of Japanese experts.
