2015-11-19 20th Kaleidoscope of Books "Tracing the path of Rimpa and its surroundings through books" now available (Japanese)

On November 19 (Thu.), the National Diet Library (NDL) released the 20th Kaleidoscope of Books "Tracing the path of Rimpa and its surroundings through books."

2015 marks the 400th anniversary of the founding of the Rimpa school of Japanese art in Kyoto by Hon'ami Kouetsu. This small digital exhibition introduces some surprising episodes of Rimpa from a library's perspective, including some rather charming Rimpa works from the NDL collection.
