2015-7-21 The National Diet Library has released a bibliographic information retrieval and visualization system developed by utilizing MIMA search in the NDL Lab

MIMA search was developed by Dr. Hideki Mima (Specially Appointed Associate Professor, School of Engineering, University of Tokyo) and his associates.

Although search results are conventionally displayed in a list, MIMA search displays results as a map comprising lines and nodes, which enables users to easily visualize the relation between diverse data points, thereby allowing faster, more accurate identification of necessary information.

In the NDL Lab, patrons are able to use MIMA search to visually identify information from bibliographic data for roughly 920 thousand items and from the table of contents for about 710 thousand items digitized by the NDL.
