Mr. Ng Cher Pong Appointed as Chief Executive Officer of National Library Board, Singapore

Mr. Ng Cher Pong was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of the National Library Board (NLB) of Singapore on 1 December 2019. He oversees a network of 26 public libraries, the National Library, and the National Archives of Singapore the three key bodies under the NLB. Cher Pong is actively driving the development and implementation of the Libraries and Archives Plan 2025. He will continue to lead the NLB towards its mission to nurture readers for life, build learning communities and a knowledgeable nation. At the same time, he continues to strengthen partnerships and collaboration with our international partners.

Cher Pong has more than 25 years of experience in the public service and has served in various capacities across many ministries and government agencies, such as the Ministry of Manpower, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Education, Singapore Workforce Development Agency and SkillsFuture Singapore. In the last 10 years, he has been working in the field of education and training, from pre-schools to university education, and more recently, with a focus on lifelong learning.
