Directors and heads of National Libraries from Asia and Oceania will convene in Bali, Indonesia from 17 to 20 February 2020 for the 28th Conference of Directors of National Libraries in Asia and Oceania (CDNLAO) Annual Meeting hosted by the National Library of Indonesia. Initiated in 1979, the CDNLAO annual meeting has been conducted in 16 countries all over Asia and Oceania.

The upcoming meeting is the third time it has been held in Indonesia. Two previous meetings were also held in Bali in 2007 and 2012. The latter was hosted in parallel with the 15th Congress of Southeast Asian Librarians (CONSAL).

The theme of this year's meeting is The Roles of National Libraries for the Nation's Future Development. As a follow up to the previous meeting in Singapore, the discussion will be directed to cover topics including library transformation, how national libraries remain relevant for the future, how national libraries can play the key role for the future and national libraries plan and road map. In addition, the National Library of Indonesia will also take this opportunity to leverage its advocacy to promote the significance of libraries in achieving development agenda particularly in Indonesia.

The National Library of Indonesia is also pleased to host the Silk Road International Forum for Libraries which will be held continuously after the CDNLAO meeting on 18 February 2020.

We look forward to seeing all delegates in Bali.
