  • Tabi no iezuto (Souvenir of trips). Mitsumura Shashinbu, 1898-1902 (Call Number: YDM22666)

Explanation about the photographs, etc.

The title of each photograph is transcribed without modification.
For photographs which are referred to in materials contained in the Digital Library from the Meiji Era (Japanese only) or "Digitized Contents" (former Rare Books Image Database) (Japanese only) on the NDL website, links are provided to corresponding sites. In addition, persons related to the photographs contained in the NDL Electronic Exhibition "Portraits of Modern Japanese Historical Figures" are linked to their corresponding pages, and portraits and biographies of the persons can be checked.
Photo titles and sources whose English titles cannot be confirmed in the original have been romanized in [ ].

Address

The addresses given for the Meiji era are those of the end of the era, mainly from the descriptions of the photos and those on the linked pages in the Digital Library from the Meiji Era.

Column

Columns were written by the staff of the Research and Legislative Reference Bureau and Reference and Special Collections Department.
