Description

Businessman. Born in Aizu-Wakamatsu, Fukushima. Originally from the Aizu clan, he was at first a member of the Byakkotai. After the Meiji Restoration, he moved to Nagano Prefecture at the prospect of increasing demand for war-horses, and managed a stockbreeding firm. He also held the position of director of the rice exchange in Nagano City. Later, in anticipation of the rise of the electric industry, he established an electrical insulator factory in Aizu. He was successful in the technical innovation of insulators.
