[3] 7th year of Tenmei (1787) Daisho-reki [Sugoroku board game]
Look at the sugoroku board. The months shown on each koma (piece of sugoroku) on the mother's side indicate long months and those on the child's side show the short months. On the mother's kimono is a pattern with the character Dai, in this case meaning "long," while on the child's back is a family crest with the character Sho (short).
On the tsuitate (single-panel wooden screen) is a picture of a sheep, the animal of the year for 1787. The picture bears the seal of the ukiyo-e print artist who made this Daisho-reki calendar, Torii Kiyonaga.
Long months: January, April, July, September, October, December
Short months: February, March, May, June, August, November
