ワールドデジタルライブラリーは、米国議会図書館とユネスコが共同で推進している電子図書館プロジェクトです。2009年4月21日にサービスを開始しました。
　世界各国の図書館等が提供する、各国の文化の特色を示す手稿、地図、貴重書、写真、動画等のデジタルコンテンツを、地域、時系列、テーマ別に一望できるウェブサイトです。

　日本からは、国立国会図書館の電子展示会「60周年記念貴重書展」 「史料にみる日本の近代」等の中から「百万塔陀羅尼」など45件のコンテンツを選定し、画像や英文解説を提供しています。
