Special permission is granted only to users performing legitimate study or research. After finding a material of interest in the NDL-OPAC or other means, confirm the call number, fill out both a call-slip and a Permission Application Form, and submit them at the counter. Be sure to fill out the column describing the purpose and subject of your research on the Permission Application Form. Advance reservations are required to use music manuscripts.
  • Please request musical scores, electronic publications, and books that include electronic media from the NDL-OPAC. Some materials have restrictions on reading and copying.
  • Materials cannot be taken from the Music and Audio-Visual Materials Room except for copying.
  • Audio-visual materials and electronic publications can only be used with the audio-visual device provided in the Music and Audio-Visual Materials Room. Use of personal devices, including earphones, headphones, PCs, or other devices, is not permitted.
  • Materials will be set up on the audio-visual device by a staff member and must be used in the designated area in the Music and Audio-Visual Materials Room.
