How to make requests for photocopy or interlibrary loan services via email

NOTICE

The NDL will implement a new National Diet Library Online Search and Request Service (NDL Online) this coming January.
With this system renewal, we will finish accepting requests via email.
You CANNOT order via email a photocopy request from Friday, December 15, 2017 and an ILL request from Friday, December 1, 2017.

General information on requests sent via email

(This service is available on a trial basis and will shortly come to an end.)
Registered users who find the Japanese version of the NDL-OPAC difficult to use may now make requests for photocopy or interlibrary loan (ILL) services via email.

The acceptance of applications via email is being implemented on a trial basis.

Requests sent via email for photocopy services will be accepted only from registered users or institutions outside Japan. Please refer to our User Registration webpage to register.

Requests sent via email for ILL services will be accepted only from registered libraries outside Japan, not from individual users.
*
Users who make requests via this service are deemed to have accepted our terms of service and service policies. Please refer to our service policy for the photocopy and ILL services.
*
For security reasons, we cannot accept applications as attachments to email. Please note that all email sent via the Internet is vulnerable to sniffing by unauthorized third parties.

How to request photocopies

To request photocopies, please send an email to the NDL's ILL section ill-secat n d l dot g o dot j p with as much of the following information as possible. The subject line of your email should start with [Copy Request]:
