Integration of the Digital Library from the Meiji Era (Kindai Digital Library)
into the National Diet Library Digital Collections

The Digital Library from the Meiji Era (Kindai Digital Library) has been integrated into the National Diet Library Digital Collections (NDL Digital Collections), as of 31 May 2016. At the same time, a renovated top page for the NDL Digital Collections has been unveiled as part of overall improvements made to the site.

<<The renovated top page of the NDL Digital Collections>>

The Digital Library from the Meiji Era comprised digitized versions of books and periodicals published during or after the Meiji Era, of which the contents were accessible via the Internet. Now all materials that were formerly available there can be accessed via the NDL Digital Collections on the Internet. The NDL is currently making available on the NDL website a steadily increasing volume of pre-war books and other library materials after clearing copyrights.

Although patrons who access the URL of the Digital Library from the Meiji Era database are automatically redirected to the NDL Digital Collections, the NDL would like to request that those who maintain a direct link to the Digital Library from the Meiji Era on a website or other form of reference please update such links to the URL of the NDL Digital Collections as mentioned below.

Thank you for your support of the Digital Library from the Meiji Era since its launch in 2002.

Old URL: http://kindai.ndl.go.jp/?__lang=en
New URL: http://dl.ndl.go.jp/?__lang=en

*In order to validate the link to a certain material, change "kindai" in the URL to "dl."
*There are no changes to the subdirectory, i.e., (info:ndljp/pid/###)
