Full-scale operation of the NDL Great East Japan Earthquake Archive "HINAGIKU" started

<<NDL Great East Japan Earthquake Archive "HINAGIKU">>
The National Diet Library (NDL) started full-scale operation of the NDL Great East Japan Earthquake Archive "HINAGIKU." "HINAGIKU" is the Searching Portal that enables integrated search and utilization of sound and videos, pictures, websites, etc., about the Great East Japan Earthquake and Fukushima Nuclear Disaster.
The number of materials related to earthquake disasters and nuclear power contained in “HINAGIKU,” is over two million, of which 200 thousand or more are related to the Great East Japan Earthquake. For example, you can watch the videos of the Fukushima Nuclear Accident Independent Investigation Commission of the National Diet and the websites of afflicted local towns immediately after the earthquake, both of which the NDL collected. “HINAGIKU” is also an advanced search engine which contains contents from more than 12 partners’ digital repositories besides the ones of the NDL. You can see the list of searchable databases in the "List of the search targets" (Japanese only) and examples of materials in "Introduction of the contents" (Japanese only).
The NDL will continue to collect materials for future generations, reconstruction of the afflicted areas, disaster defense and mitigation.
On March 26, 2013, a symposium commemorating the official launch of the Great East Japan Earthquake Archive was held. You can access videos and handouts of the symposium (Japanese only) via "HINAGIKU."
