Turkish materials are now searchable by NDL Asian Language Materials OPAC

Bibliographic data of Turkish materials, 1,084 titles (1,717 volumes), held at the Kansai-kan of the National Diet Library were added to the NDL Asian Language Materials OPAC.

The majority of the Turkish materials are in the field of humanities such as history and literature, including works of famous authors such as Orhan Pamuk, Nobel laureate in literature. 140 titles written in Arabic characters (Ottoman Turkish) which were published before the reform of the writing system in 1928 are also included. Materials can be searched from both original script and transcription into Roman script.

With this addition, bibliographic data of 13 languages including Chinese, Korean, Mongolian, Indonesian, Malay, Vietnamese, Thai, Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu, Persian, and Arabic became available.
