"Portraits of Modern Japanese Historical Figures"
"Portraits of Modern Japanese Historical Figures," one of the electronic exhibitions on the National Diet Library website, presents portrait photographs of people who had an impact on the making of modern Japanese society. On March 15, 2007, 128 portraits of
mainly scholars and literary
figures such as Natsume, Soseki and Higuchi, Ichiyo were added to the
exhibition. This made other 350 people’s portraits available in addition to the portraits of statesmen, government officials, military officers, and businessmen which had been already available from the opening of the exhibition. If these peoples’ works are included in the "Digital Library from the Meiji Era," you can jump to their digitized works from the link (available only in Japanese). We hope you find the enlarged exhibition even more helpful and interesting. |
