2016-10-3 An International Symposium: Trends in Open Science and the Role of Libraries will be held at the NDL on Tuesday, November 15, 2016.

The National Diet Library will sponsor a symposium featuring Ms. Kristiina Hormia-Poutanen, president of the Ligue des Bibliothèques Européennes de Recherche, or Association of European Research Libraries (LIBER). LIBER actively promotes Open Science in Europe, and Ms. Hormia-Poutanen will speak about the efforts of European research libraries and national libraries to stay abreast of trends in Open Science. The symposium will also feature leading Japanese researchers who are promoting Open Science in a discussion of the role to be played by Japanese libraries, things that can be learned from European libraries, and the potential of Open Science in Japan.

For details, please see "Trends in Open Science and the Role of Libraries" on the Events page of the National Diet Library website.
