2013-2-21 About 23,000 digitized books are newly available on the Internet

On February 21, approximately 23,000 books, which had previously been provided only inside the NDL, became available on the Internet after copyright clearance. The materials which became available at this time include works of Kunio Yanagita and Eiji Yoshikawa, whose copyrights expired in January 2013. Newly added materials can be searched and read in the Digital Library from the Meiji Era and the NDL Digitized Contents. As a result, the total number of the digitized materials the NDL provides on the Internet has now reached 450,000.
