On November 22, approximately 13,000 historical recordings were added to the National Diet Library Digitized Contents (Japanese).

With this addition, the total number of historical recordings available onsite at the NDL and at the participating libraries reached 39,000. The historical recordings whose copyrights and related rights have expired are available also on the Internet.

Moreover, 140 items from the NDL Modern Japanese Political History Collection were added to the NDL Digitized Contents on November 22. The collection includes correspondences, manuscripts, and diaries that once belonged to eminent figures of modern Japanese politics. All 140 items are accessible via the Internet.

The NDL will continue to add to the NDL Digitized Contents, and will make available as many materials as possible on the Internet.
