As of September 10, 2012, Hiroyuki Taya, Deputy Librarian of the National Diet Library, retired and Yukio Ikemoto, Senior Specialist, was appointed Deputy Librarian to succeed him.
Mr. Ikemoto joined the National Diet Library in 1978, and served as Director General of the Public Services Department and subsequently as Director General of the International Library of Children’s Literature. He has served as Senior Specialist since April 2012.
