About 340,000 digitized materials (books, periodicals, newspapers, rare books and old materials) will be added to the digital archives of the NDL. More than 1,370,000 digitized items will be available inside the NDL.
Some rare books and the "Ishinomaki Hibi Shimbun," copies of a handwritten newspaper published in the disaster area right after the Great East Japan Earthquake, are also available on the Internet.
