2011-9-7 Cooperative agreement for the digital archive of the Great East Japan Earthquake between the NDL and the Edwin O. Reischauer Institute of Japanese Studies at Harvard University.

The Edwin O. Reischauer Institute of Japanese Studies at Harvard University has been building the Digital Archive of Japan's 2011 Disasters project, to collect, preserve, and make accessible as much of the digital record of the Great East Japan Earthquake as possible, to enable scholarly research and analysis of the events and their effects.
The National Diet Library has been harvesting public institutions' websites including governmental ones. Since the disasters of March 11, we have focused on archiving related websites including local government websites in the devastated area. We have collaborated with the Reischauer Institute's project after it started in late March, providing information about our work of archiving relevant content.
Our collaboration became an official relationship through the conclusion of the agreement. Based on this agreement, we aim for closer collaboration on developing a world-wide digital archive of the Great East Japan Earthquake.
