On August 17, a new web service "NDL Search (BETA) (Japanese)" was released.
It enables you to simultaneously search bibliographic data and digital contents stored in prefectural libraries, National Archives of Japan, museums, institutes of academic research and the National Diet Library (NDL). It takes over and develops the function of Digital Archive Portal (PORTA), NDL-OPAC, and NDL National Union Catalog Network System (Japanese) and has become the NDL's largest search engine.
It will become fully operational in January 2012. "NDL Search" is still in beta version to gain feedback from users. We welcome your suggestions for this service.
