The National Diet Library and OCLC (Online Computer Library Center, Inc.) have agreed to work cooperatively to add about 500 million bibliographic records from the National Diet Library, JAPAN/MARC, to WorldCat.
Once records are added to WorldCat , the libraries that register with OCLC will be able to download freely the data of the JAPAN/MARC and use them to make bibliographic records of their materials in Japanese. Moreover users worldwide will be able to search data of JAPAN/MARC in WorldCat free of charge and without registration.
