A: It is the national bibliography of Japan, consists of the standard bibliographic data of publications that are acquired and cataloged by the NDL. It is distributed quickly inside and outside Japan.

An important aim of the Japanese National Bibliography is to report biblographic data of new publications quickly. For searching for detailed bibliographic data and holding information, use the NDL-OPAC .

A: MARC, which is an abbreviation of MAchine Readable Cataloging, provides the mechanism by which computers exchange, use and interpret bibliographic information. The JAPAN/MARC is divided into three types: (M) for books, (S) for serials, and (A) for authority file. The JAPAN/MARC and its manuals are on sale from the Japan Library Association . A:Bibliographic data of all materials in the NDL-OPAC can be downloaded. No registration or application is required. No restriction on the use of downloaded bibliographic data. They can be used for various purposes.

On the Results Page, displayed bibliographic data can be downloaded. To download bibliographic data, please click the "Download" button at the upper right corner of the page. The number of items displayed can be changed using the pull-down menu at the upper left of the screen.

Selection of individual data on the screen for downloading is not possible.

Downloaded files are in tab-delimited format (tsv).

Downloadable items differ by types of materials.
