(This event has ended.)
![]()
The National Diet Library launched a roundtable on digital information resources in MLA (Museum, Library, Archive) collaboration to develop digital archives and digital contents in Japan. The roundtable will conduct deliberations to enhance collaboration among museums, libraries and archives which own intellectual and cultural properties, and to solve common issues of digital information resources.
A lecture meeting commemorating the launch of the roundtable will be held in the Tokyo Main Library of the National Diet Library. Mr. Erland Kolding Nielsen, Director General of the Royal Library (Denmark), and Dr. Jill Cousins, Executive Director of EDL Foundation / Program Director of the European Library, are invited from Europe where MLA collaboration on digital information resources has made advances. The current situation and future prospects of MLA collaboration in Europe will be introduced in their lectures.
After the lectures, a panel discussion will be held. Prof. Naoki Takubo, Faculty of Junior College Division, Kinki University, who is leading domestic research on MLA collaboration, and Dr. Makoto Nagao, the Librarian of the National Diet Library, will join it.
