Academic Libraries: Getting to the Future in the Google World
(This event has ended.)

The National Diet Library invites you to attend a lecture by Ms. Patricia A. Steele, the Dean of the University of Maryland Libraries.

Ms. Steele took a leading role in forming a partnership between university libraries of the U.S. and Google to incorporate academic literatures in Google's mass digitization project. Google's audacious move created a real stir among publishers all over the world and libraries are also looking for a direction to take. In this lecture, Ms. Steele shares with us her vision, strategy and experience of carving out a niche in the Google World.
