Universal Access to All Knowledge
(This event has ended.)

Mr. Brewster Kahle

The National Diet Library will invite Mr. Brewster Kahle, founder of Internet Archive (IA), and hold a lecture meeting.

Known in Japan for its Wayback Machine, which preserves and makes available past websites, IA is a nonprofit organization which provides digital archives such as websites, movies and sounds, as well as digitizing books. Mr. Kahle has spent his career intent on a singular focus which is to make information free and accessible through digital means.

In his lecture, Mr. Kahle will talk about the current status and future of the universal access to information. After the lecture, a three-way conversation will be conducted between Mr. Kahle, Prof. Soichi Tokizane (Professor of Aichi University) and Dr. Makoto Nagao (Librarian of the National Diet Library).

*This lecture is same lecture as that of cancelled one in March 24. We apologize for the inconvenience.
