< Dr. Lim Won-sun, Chief Executive of the National Library of Korea >
Greetings to all!
I am Lim Won-sun, the 38th Chief Executive of the National Library of Korea. It is a great pleasure to extend my warm greetings to libraries in the Asia-Oceania region.
I have worked for libraries for a long time as the Director-General of the Planning Group of Library and Information Policy and as the Copyright Policy Director General in the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
I am well aware of the importance of the role of the National Library of Korea in effectively collecting, managing, and providing national knowledge and information that is a driving force of national development.
The National Library of Korea strongly believes that knowledge and information is one of the most significant resources for national development. The Library will put the intellectual achievements of our ancestors together with the high-end digital resources of today to serve as a living information repository.
Furthermore, the National Library of Korea will strive to improve the Korean libraries’ international status, and evolve into the world-class library in cooperation with libraries across the world.
I hope that all national libraries in Asia-Oceania region achieve co-prosperity through close cooperation with each other.
With best wishes,
Lim Won-sun
Chief Executive
National Library of Korea
