Human Resource Development in the National Library of the Philippines

By National Library of the Philippines

The National Library of the Philippines has 164 personnel, 142 permanent employees (71 from the library group and 71 from the non-library group), and 22 contractual workers who are assigned to perform non-librarian tasks vital to the interest of the institution, like security, maintenance, clerical and carpentry works.

Despite of rigorous challenges experienced emanating from global and national events, the Institution is focusing on staff and collection developments, and was able to send a number of employees to various trainings, seminars, and conferences from within Philippines while 8 employees were sent abroad.

For the year 2008, The Agency’s unwavering commitment to attain its goal reap positive results. It has been a fruitful year for all and as we enter 2009 we pledge to continue to be more diligent and aim for more accomplishments to make The National Library for the Filipino render the aimed fruitful services.
