The National Library Board Singapore (NLB) will be holding its annual "Asian Children's Festival" (ACF) this year from 17 November to 6 December. A month-long fiesta and learning festival, the event serves as a platform for children, parents, educators and institutions involved in shaping young minds to come together to celebrate children and promote children content and development. The Festival aspires to connect people and institutions related to children in the literary, publishing, library and book information fields and the creative world of arts. Through it, it aimed to encourage professionals to network, share, learn, research, write and develop Asian content, products and services that meet the child’s educational, creative and emotional needs.

Into its fifth year, the ACF has evolved to become a widely anticipated trade and consumer event, reaching out to more than 500,000 participants to-date.

Some highlights of this year's festival include the Asian Children Drama Fiesta that features a series of fun, and animated productions by various drama groups, and the Great Singapore Stories where a day is dedicated to nationwide storytelling. Specially organized story telling sessions will also take place on the Mass Rapid Transits or subway trains, at various libraries and even during a pyjamas party. Another key event is the budding writers' award ceremony that recognizes and rewards writers of children's literature.
An Asian Children's Cooking Workshop will teach the kids some basic cooking skills to whip up delicious and healthy Asian dishes.

This year's festival will continue to feature an exquisite forum of internationally renowned and celebrated children's storytellers, writers, puppeteers, children's librarians and child prodigies. There will also be an expo showcasing products and services targeted at the children to meet their educational and development needs.

In Asia where there is a multitude of cultures and languages, the Asian Children's Festival will celebrate the expansive traditions, festivals and knowledge that children living in Asia grow up with. The wide range of activities, from film, drama to storytelling aim to help parents and children build foundations for creative thinking and ultimately provide opportunities for family bonding.
