We are delighted to publish the 50th commemorative issue of the CDNLAO Newsletter. To celebrate this special issue, we have compiled a cumulative index (no.1-no.50) of the Newsletter.

The first issue of the CDNLAO Newsletter was published in July 1983* to promote better understanding and closer cooperation through the exchange of information among national libraries. Since then, it has served as a forum for effective communication among librarians in Asia and Oceania. Thanks to the wholehearted support and cooperation from correspondents and CDNLAO members, the Newsletter has been growing in usefulness for more than 20 years. We greatly appreciate your support and look forward to your continued cooperation for the advancement of the CDNLAO Newsletter.

*The first six issues were published under the title of A/O Newsletter - Forum for libraries in Asia and Oceanea - as an appendix to the National Diet Library Newsletter.

Special topic of the next issue

To member libraries of the CDNLAO: 

"Training programs for librarians" is featured in this issue. 

The special topic of the next issue (No. 51, November 2004) will be "Strategic plan in the management process." We would appreciate your contributions on any strategic plans or projects in the management process carried out by your library. 

We also welcome articles which introduce unique services of your libraries, and your comments on the Newsletter.
