Training Session for Bibliographers in Mongolia

    Three days training session on theme "International formats and standards for exchanging the bibliographic information" was held at the State Central Library of Mongolia on August 7-10, 2003. The training was organized within the framework of the project "Training Resource Center for Mongolian Librarians" sponsored by Mongolian Foundation for Open Society (Soros Foundation).
    Training session 1

    40 bibliography librarians from 21 aimags, State Central Library, Municipal Central Library, University and College libraries had been involved in the training session. The bibliographers who have specially important role in converting libraries into modern information center have been introduced library software programs, formats, standards, that are presently being utilized in our country and listen to lectures on theoretical concepts on modern bibliographic studies, how to process and conduct local bibliographic records, bibliographic handouts, and discuss own ideas, suggestions.
     

    Training session 2Over 500 librarians from urban and rural areas have been so far involving in these training sessions, organized within the project "Training Resource Center for Mongolian Librarians" since 2001. The further trainings will be organized on the specialized qualification basis such as trainings for bibliographers, stack librarians, library managers and methodical librarians.
