Activity Performance Evaluation
In July 2012, the National Diet Library (NDL) formulated “Mission and Objectives 2012-2016,” which replaces the earlier “Vision for the NDL’s 60th anniversary.”
We have established a management cycle PLAN - DO - CHECK - ACT based on an evaluation system Activity Performance Evaluation and are continually working to improve our services.

Priority Objectives
Priority Objectives are set as medium term objectives, covering the major activities of the NDL. Progress and achievements are evaluated annually, and the results are widely published.
- Priority Objectives for FY2012(21 March 2012)
Our framework and results
The NDL has been running the evaluation system for service improvement since FY2004. The system underwent revision in FY2007-2008 and became the Activity Performance Evaluation. To ensure objectivity and neutrality of the evaluation, and to properly reflect the evaluation results in the activities of the NDL, we have brought in the Expert Council on Evaluation as the external watchdog since FY 2009.
