Activity Performance Evaluation

The National Diet Library set out the “Vision for the NDL’s 60th anniversary” as mid- and long- term (5-10 years) basic policies to achieve. To realize the Vision, we have established a management cycle PLAN - DO - CHECK - ACT based on an evaluation system Activity Performance Evaluation and are continually working to improve our services.

Realizing Vision

Priority Objectives

Priority Objectives are set to achieve the Vision. Progress and achievements are evaluated annually, and the results are widely published.

Expert Council on Evaluation

To ensure objectivity and neutrality of the evaluation, and to properly reflect the evaluation results in the activities of the National Diet Library, we have brought in the Expert Council on Evaluation as the external watchdog.

Our previous framework and results

The National Diet Library has been running the evaluation system for service improvement since FY2004. The system underwent revision in FY2007-2008 and became the Activity Performance Evaluation.
As a result of the revision, we replaced Service Standards with Service Performance Indicators which show the performance of library services to users.
